Amtrak train shuttle
Getting to Martha's Vineyard from NYC (and other points North and South) has never been easier! Take Amtrak to Providence Station, catch our shuttle service, and then board our ferry to the Island by following these l simple steps:
l Steps to Connect to Martha's Vineyard via Amtrak
j Book your Amtrak train at www.amtrak.com or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL. Be sure to select a train that will arrive in Providence with plenty of time to catch our shuttle, which leaves 90 minutes prior to each of our ferry departures.
k Make your ferry reservations by clicking Book a Trip. See it up there..upper right of your screen.
l Call our shuttle service (or book via their website) at 401-737-2868 ext. 2 to reserve your seat on the shuttle - just $22 per person! Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.
Our ferry service offers the closest connection to Amtrak, located only 20 miles, or 25 minutes, away from the Providence Amtrak Station (PVD) centrally located at 100 Gaspee Street, Providence, RI 02903.
The cost is $22 per person (children 3 and under are free!). Please note that if you are traveling with a child who weighs less than 80 lbs or is 54 inches or shorter, you will need to provide a car seat to travel on the shuttle (RI State Law).
Shuttle reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. You can make them by calling (401) 737-2868 ext. 2 or by visiting their website at www.airporttaxiri.com.
Coming from Boston?
The MBTA offers a commuter train from Boston that stops in Providence, RI. The Providence/Stoughton line has a stop at the Providence Amtrak station at 100 Gaspee Street, Providence, RI 02903. MBTA passengers are encouraged to utilize our shuttle service.
Want to take a bus?
If you are traveling via Peter Pan bus or public transportation (RIPTA), there are a few options for connecting with our ferry service. The Peter Pan terminal is at 1Kennedy Plaza, Providence, RI 02903, which is 0.25 miles away from the train station and our shuttle pick-up site. RIPTA has a few stops close to the train station, or their main hub also located at Kennedy Plaza.
